We look forward to welcoming you to Belfast for UKSBM 2027

For the first time in the history of UKSBM, our Annual Scientific Meeting will take place in Northern Ireland. We are delighted to be bringing the conference to Belfast and look forward to welcoming colleagues from across the UK, Ireland and internationally. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the behavioural medicine research taking place in Northern Ireland, while also strengthening connections and collaborations across the UK and beyond.

This will be our 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting, showcasing the best of the UK’s research in behavioural medicine.

As usual, the conference will feature oral presentations, 5 in 5 presentations and poster presentations. Themes will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Alcohol, tobacco and other substances
  • Behaviour change interventions (digital and non-digital)
  • Cancer
  • Children’s health and wellbeing
  • Climate change
  • Gambling
  • Health services
  • Inequalities
  • Medicines optimisation
  • Methodology
  • Neighbourhood models of care
  • Older adults
  • Physical activity

  • Primary care
  • Psychological wellbeing
  • Participatory research and public involvement
  • Screening

Our 2-day programme will include nationally and internationally renowned keynote speakers, parallel sessions, research awards, special interest group meetings, early-career researcher sessions, the Society’s Annual General Meeting, and plenty of opportunities to network and socialise – including UKSBM’s informal Social on Tuesday evening (27 April 2027).

The UKSBM, Ulster University and Queen's University Belfast are committed to improving sustainability and working towards net zero carbon. As part of this commitment, we will continue to consider the environmental impact of the conference, including our catering and travel arrangements. Further details about our sustainability initiatives for UKSBM 2027 will be shared in due course.

We strongly encourage travel by public transport. Belfast is well connected by public transport, and the conference venue is conveniently located for access from across the city.

We encourage you to post about the conference on social media using #uksbm2027.

We look forward to seeing you in Belfast!
